Thick, heavy 4to. in the publishers' original bevel edged green cloth, gilt lettering to spine and gilt embossed front cover, 292pp on glossy art paper, plus 17 plates all with printed tissue guards hors-text including 3 auto-lithographs: Fernand Khnopff 'Une tete de face'; Frank Barngwyn 'The Goat-Herd'; Robert Sterl 'Dammerung' and Nicholson's coloured woodcut 'The Cabriolet '. PLUS 'The Studio - Special Winter Number 1897 - 8' bound in at rear, 68pp on glossy art paper, complete with all 5 hors-text plates including colour frontispiece and Robert Anning Bell's auto-lithograph 'In Nooks With Books'. There is also one of the quite rare large sepia engraved 'invitations' on thick card done by the Goldsmith's & Silversmith's Company which were bound in as personalised advertisements with the name of the subscriber receiving this copy elegantly hand written onto the card. This copy, including the Winter Number has been collated complete as issued CONDITION: A well preserved VERY GOOD+ clean and tight unmarked copy (covers very mildly rubbed).
