This is the breakfast talk presented at the 1964 meeting of the Alabama Historical Association. Note that the current Alabama Historical Association was founded in 1947 (Mr. Brannon being one of the charter members and early presidents), whereas the Alabama Historical Society of which he gives an entertaining history herein was active during the mid-19th century (with activities centered around Tuscaloosa) and then again during the late 19th and very early 20th centuries (when it was directed by Thomas Owen).
