The ôfiligranaö technique already known in Murano in the XVI century is obtained by joining two conical vases under heat, covered externally with thin threads, one arrranged clockwise and then anticlockwise. A network is thus formed in the form of a chessboard-like pattern.The threads with different thickness, within each quarangle, cause the characteristic bubble. This book is on the arrangement of an international competition involving not only the replica of the old plate from 1709 but also putting reticello into modern context. This richly illustrated catalogue includes beautifully photographed color images of all the pieces shown in the exhibition at the museum. Morris (born 1957 in California) has worked with glass for more than 20 years. The hot, thick, syrupy substance continues to be a challenge for him to work with and through which he can express himself.
