First edition in English. Collection of fifteen stories by the winner of the 1933 Nobel Prize for Literature. "The Scream" and "The Third Cock-Crow" are set at sea. "Transfiguration" is a spooky story abut a young man's vigil by the body of his dead mother. "A Creepy Story" is criminous. Top edge of text block foxed, mild foxing to endpapers, a very good copy in good printed dust jacket with short tears at edges and general dust soiling. (#134828).
