A 1934 album of cigarette cards, the subject, as is stated in the subtitle: Dienst und leben der Matrosen. Translated: The service and lives of sailors.in this case, those in the German navy. There are 72 cards and they are all there. Whether or not these were ever actually inside a cigarette package is anybody's guess. They are in excellent condition. The album itself has a stain problem on the spine which reached the margins of the first 7 pages near the spine. It is fairly faint and has not weakened the book in any way. There is some glue debris on page 73 but this did not affect any of the cards. The last page is a pull-out 2-page diagram of a warship, showing its compartments. Some soiling of covers and paper inside turning yellow-brown to some extent. An interesting look at German weaponry and attitudes as World War II was threatening to explode.
