Etat : Fair. 1941. First Edition. 292 pages. No dust jacket. Yellow cloth. Heavy tanning and foxing to pages and text block edges. Some rub-marking and foxing to pastedowns and endpapers with inscriptions to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and heavy crushing to spine ends. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed and tanned.

Etat : Fair. 1937. First Edition. 298 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with silver lettering to spine. Pages are lightly tanned with noticeable foxing throughout. Slightly more pronounced towards the start and end of the book. Mild cracking to gutters on occasion. Binding remains firm with all pages attached. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have slight edge wear with corner bumping. Noticeable tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Small splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be slightly frayed. Lettering is slightly darkened. Faint black marks overall. Book has a slight forward lean.

The spine has slight darkening and a few light marks near the bottom. Corners have light rubbing and bumping. The page edges are browned with heavy spotting. Small bookshop stamp on the front paste down. Quite a bit of spotting on the pages at the front and rear of the book. Spotting in a number of places through the book. More than half the pages affected. First printing. No jacket.
