paperback. Etat : Very Good. Text in English, French, and Inuit?Wraps are lightly discolored from age, stapled binding in very good condition, internally clean. 40 pages, illustrated in black and white. Nearly three hundred sculptors participated from twenty settlements throughout the Territories and the resulting works of art were examined by members of the Eskimo Arts Council who then selected seventy-seven of the finest pieces entered in the contest as being truly representative of contemporary Eskimo sculpture. From these the four prize-winning pieces and eight for Honourable Mention were finally selected. The entire project reflects the great spirit of co-operation and endeavour which flourishes so strongly in the joint endeavours of all who love and are concerned with the development of Canada's great northland, and the resulting collection of sculpture now assembled in Yellowknife demonstrates the continuing pride of heritage, determination to succeed and sensitivity of artistic expression which is so characteristic of the Eskimo people.
