Oliver Bell Bunce (1828-1890) was a New York writer and editor best known for his plays. First published in 1884 the content gives advice on etiquette and what not to do at the table and in the drawing room as well as a chapter devoted to womankind and another for husbands. Other mentions cover playing tennis and bridge, dancing and motoring. Somewhat dated, even so some of the advice given is still very apt and also amusing. Crease mark on page 79, lower cover a little marked and creased, otherwise very good. Lower cover slightly marked, otherwise very good.

Hand-written title on spine, some pencil annotations throughout. In 1867, Bunce Oliver Bell, formed a connection with D. Appleton & Company, which continued until his death. When Appletons' Journal was established in 1869, Bunce became its chief editor.
