Hardcover. Etat : Fair - Cash. Heavy wear to cover, corners and edges, exposes the boards. Has soiling to cover and pages, with creases. Cloth cover has several tears with one large tear going down the front of the spine and exposing binding. Corners are bumped and frayed. Back cover has water damage with rippling. Binding is tilted. Front and back gutters are cracked and exposing webbing. Previous owner's name on ffep. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

No Jacket. 1st Edition. 8vo, blue cloth textured paper wrappers printed in silver, 64pp. The poetry chosen in this anthology is of a maudlin, sentimental, or popularizing style - Edwin Markham, Helen Hunt Jackson, O. W. Holmes, many unknown names, etc. - and the booklet was a promotional vehicle for the Coward Shoe Company. Mitchell, now long since forgotten, appears to have been a third-rate author, editor, and successful media hack. A Very Good copy.

Copyright page dated 1911. 883 pages. Very good condition - bottom right corner of front cover is worn through to the boards beneath, with only minor wear to other corners. Two small, dark marks on back cover. Top edge of pages is gilded. Binding is square and tight. Endpapers are unevenly toned, with minor speckling. Pages have toned evenly and lightly. Page between the half-title page and the title page states that this is a Christmas-edition numbered presentation copy, numbered 339. The signature of the editor appears, in ink, on the same page. Pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. A treasury of light verse and inspirational stories for children, released for the Christmas season of 1936. Signed by Author(s).
