Etat : Good. 1912. No edition remarks. 425 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth covered boards with gilt and a colour illustration pasted on. Full colour frontispiece. Drawings throughout. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Small amount of Tip-Ex to front paste-down. Binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Splitting and fraying of cloth at the spine. Mild crushing to spine ends. Moderate tanning to spine. Gilt lettering is darkened. Book has a slight forward lean.

It traces the history of the sailing ship in art from 15th century woodcuts to late Victorian lithographs. The front free end paper has been torn out otherwise the book is VG. The dj has some creases and two pieces (each about 1in square ) missing. it also has some tape repairs and reinforcement, but is otherwise clean and bright.
