Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Heavier tanning to free endpapers. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Thumb-marking present. Notable creasing to gutter. Cracking to hinges and gutters, leaving netting exposed. Front and rear boards are loose but still attached. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible crushing to spine ends. Notable tanning to spine and edges. Splits to spine ends. Black marks overall. Bubbling to rear board. Textblock is shaky. Book has a visible forward lean.

This copy is gently ex-library, the markings being largely confined to rubber stamps to the prelims. Otherwise the contents are clean and bright with no ownership markings of any kind. An interesting history of the gold fields of South Africa.
