Spine faded and edge worn - not unusual - otherwise quite a nice copy with splendid gilt leather covers, an illustrated by Gordon Craig and an article A Journey Through Abyssinia by Lord Lovat. Hardcover. Etat : Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 11 3/4" X 7 7/8" in one of the most amazingly complexly decorated leather covers I have ever seen. There is a short article at the beginning of the volume about how the design was copied from an earlier one by a master book binder. Unfortunately , the edges are heavily worn, and the hinges are in bad shape, both covers just barely hanging on: FAIR condition. The contents are very nice - clean and crisp. Indide the front cover is a bookplate for A.E. gallatin, the art collector and critic (among other things) with his signature opposite in pencil. Nice "Electric Engravings" as illustrations throughout.
