A satire which touches upon a number of popular scientific topics of the day, including Darwin and evolution and natural humbugs and P. T. Barnum. Includes an account a giant mosquito found in northern New Jersey whose diet includes decayed bone marrow of exhumed Mastodons. NUC attributes this work to Frank Wigglesworth Clarke (1847-1931).
