Illustrated by John Leech, Richard Doyle and Alfred Crowquill (Alfred Henry Forrester) with wonderful etchings set as chapter head and tail vignettes. (illustrateur). Good. Pulishers blue buckram with blind stamped border and corner motifs to boards, gilt lettering and illustration to front and lettering and floral motifs to spine. Worn and a little darkened, with a 2 inch ink stain to rear board. Front hinge cracked. page long gift inscription penned to free front endpaper. A little foxing to prelims, preliminary pages starting to loosen a little. Binders ticket of `Edmonds and Remnants` to rear pastedown. All edges gilt. v, 256pp.
