Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Near Fine. Pat Keely (illustrateur). 1st Edition. A late (possibly the last?) book by this author whose first book was published in 1932. He wrote historical fiction and biography. There are some insignificant little endpiece drawings in this book, and a magnificent dust jacket design (looking a little like Lynton Lamb) by Pat Keely, which is interesting. Is this the same Pat Keely (Patrick Cokayne Keely, who died in 1970) who is so well-known as a poster designer? He did some wonderful posters in the 1930s for London Transport and the Post Office, and also produced some memorable war-time posters. I think it must be, but if so I can't find any indication that he illustrated any book other than this one, so why did he choose this rather obscure book? Name on endpaper, top edge slightly browned, tiny knock to a top corner, but looks near fine in a near fine dust jacket with minimal wear at extremities.
Etat : Good. Most items will be dispatched the same or the next working day. Apparent first edition. With slight foxing to the textblock edge and endpapers, otherwise a clean, tight copy. Complete with a toned jacket with a little chipping about the edges.
