(stempel op voortitel en titel, hier en daar wat watervlekkig; ietwat kort afgesneden aan kopzijde; pp. 230-231, 252-253 wat gevlekt, kleine scheur in bovenmarge p. 238; een fris exemplaar). NNBW X.231 over Cuno: 'Tien jaar lang oefende hij dit eigenaardige [werfofficier voor het leger van Friedrich Wilhelm I] beroep uit [.]. Te Rome ondervond hij in 1740 vele onaangenaamheden, in verband waarmede hij besloot te deserteeren. Hij begaf zich nu te voet naar Amsterdam, zonder geld en midden in den winter. Aanvankelijk voorzag hij te Amsterdam in zijn onderhoud door les geven in talen en muziek; ook werkte hij als corrector voor een boekverkooper. Ten bewijze van zijn voortvarendheid kan gelden, dat reeds spoedig van hem verscheen een Neue holländische Grammatica [.].' De STCN beschouwt overigens Matthias Kramer als auteur van dit werk. Waller p. 215-16. Marstaller was ets-, plaatsnijder, (van 1753 tot 1786 werkzaam in Polen: CERL Thesaurus). Marstaller graveerde in 1746 Cuno's portret (Rijksmuseum).
