Minor tanning to pages with slight dog-eared pages throughout and noticeable tanning to text block edges. Visible thumb-marking present as well. Boards have moderate rubbing and handling marks with brown marks to the front. Moderate bumping to corners and soft crushing to spine ends with visible sunning to spine. Book is also forward leaning.

An adventure where Guy Laurence and Tony Carlisle, supposedly resting after adventures in far eastern waters, sign-on as deckhands on the good ship Jane, bound to South America with an odd cargo . Softening and fading to the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Light browning of the text block edges and pages with scattered foxing to the top textblock edge. Some marks to the lower left hand corner of the free front endpaper. Chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. Numerous tears to the edges of the dustwrapper, some with associated creasing. The lower edge of the rear panel has some pieces missing  please see photographs.
