Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Good. 1st Edition. First UK edition, first printing, hardcover with dust jacket in archival cover. Condition of dust jacket is Good: shows much general wear especially along edges but no large chips or tears. Price clipped. Volume is Very Good: boards with slight bow, edges toned, prior seller's pencil note on front blank, binding is sound. Above average pulp with crisp coherent action. An uncommon UK edition of this title. WorldCat locates 5 copies. See OCLC: 314953396 & 774529897. A collectible book. Please see images of the book you will receive. Notes: This same book has appeared under a variety of titles and authors. Here is the story: Gordon Donald Shirreffs is author's true name. He often wrote as 'Gordon Donalds.' True first edition is Avalon, hardcover w/ dj, 1956 by 'Gordon Donalds.' Book appeared with title of "The Desperate Donigans" as ACE double novel (D-204) with "John Law, Keep Out!" in 1957. More Notes: not to be confused with book of the same name by Stuart Hardy published in 1936 which I have also listed.
Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Copyright 1957, no edition stated. Appears unread or very gently read, unclipped and not remaindered. This copy has some H20 issues. Damp stain to the top edge that has seeped a couple of millimeters into the text block. Faint but noticeable dampstains to the boards and head and tail of the spine. Unclipped dustjacket with $2.75 price intact, has dampstains to show corresponding with the stains on the book. Front panel (awesome) art is largely unaffected with some ?crinkling? to show to the bottom third just along the spine edge. Some ?crinkling? to the top third of the rear panel. Small chip to the foot of the spine. Lightly bumped and rubbed to extremities. Now protected in archival brodart jacket. The front panel art of a tall sheriff in black and white over a vibrant yellow background is bright and unfaded, as is the art work and titles on the spine, featuring, I?m guessing here, a Colt.45.
