Vol.1: series t.p.+ engraved t.p, with illustration to centre, (Lardner not mentioned) +xxvii+327+duplicate series t.p.; gutter before series t.p. opening exposing netting but tight, light tanning to engr.t.p., otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked, tiny burn (?) hole centre front endpaper of little consequence, some dustiness to top edge, covers clean and unworn but widespread light pigment loss to back, small spot of same to spine, spine title 'History of Scandinavia' (as other 2 vols); Vol.2: (4, pub.notices)+title pages as Vol.1+xxviii+319+duplicate series t.p. as Vol.1, light tanning to engr. t.p. as Vol.1, internally clean, tight and unmarked, traces of dustiness to top edge, covers clean, tight and unworn bar small knock lower front joint of little consequence; Vol.3: t.p.'s as other vols, again light tanning to engraved t.p.,+xvi+337+duplicate series t.p. as others Vols, slight dustiness to top edge, covers clean and unworn. Binding appears to be original, although lacking any publisher's logo, identical to other volumes in this series that I have seen. Despite a few minor faults (back Vol.1 pigment loss being most serious) an unusually good set of this scarce set, apparently in original condition.
