First Edition. First printing. 16mo (19cm). Taupe paper wrappers printed in black; 40 unnumbered pages; 21 halftones reproducing Eby's etchings. Sound and clean, with minor rubbing to edges and slight toning along spine: Very Good. Introduction by Arms "reprinted from vol. VIII, Kerr Eby, 'American Etchers' Series." Exhibition catalog published by New York art dealer Frederick Keppel, who frequently produced pamphlets to accompany exhibitions at his gallery on East 57th Street. Eby (1889-1946) was a Canadian etcher and illustrator best known for his depictions of soldiers in World Wars I. (Though he was not employed as a commissioned artist during WWI, he served as an ambulance driver and camofleur.) This exhibition is a retrospective of his work, including country and genre scenes as well as combat scenes. [62393].
