Text begins on p. 6 with earlier pages (Sic Enim) missing. Another p. 24 appears on reverse of title page. This page stuck to the one after and pp. 14-15, 27-28, 29-30, 31-32 are also stuck together. Damage to bottom of first p. 24 and opposite when separated. Postscript by P. R. Stephensen.

Three very short stories set in ancient Egypt, the last fruit of this private Australian press run by Rolf Hennequel. A near fine copy with some faint creasing and bumping to the fragile wrappers. The top front corners of both covers are creased. 49 & [9] pages printed in the Italian Cloister Script on Azure laid paper made in Tasmania. The printer's device decorates the first leaf. Very good. Of a stated signed limited edition of 1,000 numbered copies, it is sthought that only about 300 copies were actually printed. Signed by Albin Eiger with his initials.

First Edition. Softcover : [i] [5] 6-49 [50] [8] Postcriptum, Index, Errata : paper spine and glossy white boards bound with a braided cord. Covers slightly soiled; corners creased; paper spine a little abraded; some edgewear; clean throughout. No. 159/1000 [only 300 were printed]. Rolf Hennequel (formerly Henkl) was a writer and publisher whose works were written using the pseudonym Albin Eiger. After three decades spent between Paris, Tokyo, Seattle and Kabul he finally migrated to Tasmania where he taught languages at Launceston State High School and set up the Wattle Grove Press. He first published his own poems and novels and then limited editions of works by Pat Flower, Rodney Hall, Dorothy Hewett and others. He conducted lively correspondence with other writers, literary agents and artists including P.R. Stephensen who wrote the postscript for this title.

Loosely laid-in are: (1) the prospectus for the book, folded twice horizontally; and (2) a printed notice recommending a method of shipment to protect the book, showing one horizontal fold.

Loosely laid-in are: (1) 3-page catalogue of Wattle Grove publications; (2) an invoice dated Dec. 1961 addressed to Librarian, Colby College, initialed by "RA" and marked "On Approval;" (3) a catalogue of 5 Eiger books published by Wattle Grove with handwritten prices and title changes in blue ink; and (4) a 4-page review of Eiger Books by P. R. Stephensen of Sydney. All the laid-ins show horizontal folds.
