Revised versions of excerpts from 'The Mill on the Floss', 'Silas Marner', and other works, with emphasis on the youthful characters (Tom and Maggie Tulliver, Eppie, Little Lizzie, and others) and intended to introduce younger readers to Eliot's works; with a short preface by Sweetser.
