[23 cm.] Some very light rubbing to cloth, corners and base of spine a trifle bumped, tiny nick to edge of front board, three small, inconspicuous bubbles to cloth at base of front board, still a very good copy, lacking the scarce dust jacket. FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, on front flyleaf. It reads: "For Herman & David Salinger: Hearty Greetings, from Charles J. Finger." Complete with eight colored woodcuts (including frontispiece) by American artist, Paul Honore. Tales of outlaws in the Australian bush, including Ned Kelly.

Keep your eyes open. Stick to the truth. Bit by bit does wonders." British-born, American author, Charles Joseph Finger (1867-1941) drew on the experiences of his colorful and adventurous life to produce many children's books, including the Newbury Prize winning, Tales from Silver Lands (1925). In addition to his 36 books, Finger was also a magazine writer/editor and founder of the magazine, "All's Well. He also wrote 30 volumes in the Little Blue Book Series, was editor of the Arkansas volume of the American Guide series of the Federal Writer's Project, and was managing editor of the Bellows-Reeve Company, which published the "Journeys Through Bookland" series. 1 p. on "All's Well" stationary.
