A tale of murder and revenge. Not published in the U.K. until 1920 as "A Savant's Vendetta". Pederson (ed.), St. James Guide to Crime and Mystery Writers, (4th ed.), pp. 383-384. Previous owner's stamp to front free endpaper, tasteful bookplate to front paste down, mild rubbing to spine ends and corners and some dulling to the spine, a very good copy. (16221).

A near fine copy, top edge dusty, stress crease to front cover (binding flaw?) in a very good dust jacket, rubbing to corners, spine ends and folds, closed tear to lower spine fold/front panel, some short closed tears and creases to upper spine panel. This novel is somewhat ahead of it's time as it concerns spousal (wife) abuse. A fine copy in a nearly fine dust jacket with a tiny closed tear to the lower front panel, a touch of shelf wear to the corner tips, light damp stain to head of spine panel and upper left front corner, several light stains to spine panel. A lovely copy of a book which is uncommon in dust jacket. (20286).
