The bottom right corner of the front cover and bottom left corner of the back cover are creased. The lower right corners of many pages are mildly bent. There is very little wear or damage otherwise. The report will be backed with cardboard and carefully packed in a sturdy, flat box to ensure safe transit. "This publication identifies and clarifies aspects of water use by the most common field crops in the Southwestern United States. Estimates of consumptive use in the Salt River Valley of Arizona, as measured by soil moisture depletion, are reported. A method is described for using the reported data to develop consumptive use estimates for other irrigated areas. This USDA Conservation Research Report updates an earlier bulletin, "Consumptive Use of Water by Crops in Arizona" by Erie et al., including both additional crops and years of data." -- abstract.

Colour illustration by Alfons Mucha tipped onto front cover; all others are in black & white. This copy came from the library of Ewald Osers who contributed a number of the translations. Rear panel of the glassine dust jacket is nicked & its tail is a little torn & creased. Scarce. Size: 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Book.
