Hardcover. Etat : Good. First Edition; First Printing. ; Pictorial cover is frayed at extremities with chipped and tape reinforced spine, and light soiling but bright. Boards and spine are straight. Binding is loose but still held by threads. Pages are lightly toned with modest thumbing but in very good condition.

Some edge wear to the dust jacket Darling book about a pup that fell down a hole of an American ship and broke its leg and is helped by the ships doctor and becomes the ships mascot.

Written during war-time by Margaret Friskey who spun a story from the letters of a sailor in the Pacific war zone. A dog called Scuttlebutt and his life aboard a Navy vessel stationed in the Pacific.
