April 1843 als Lieutenant in das Infanterieregiment Nr. 38. Am 16. Januar 1848 dem Generalstabe zugetheilt und am 8. April zum Oberlieutenant im Regimente befördert. Seine Rathschläge trugen wesentlich zur Veränderung der Marschrichtung des IV. Armeecorps am 23.
