Oversized. With an introduction by Gentles, Keeper of the Buckingham Collection. Includes a bibliography, index, and glossary. The artists represented are Suzuki Harunobu, Suzuki Harushige, Kuninobu, Tosen, Masunobu, Mitsunobu, Komai Yoshinobu, Komatsuken, Minko, Ran-U, Shichu, Isoda Koryusai, Kitao Shigemasa, Ishikawa Toyomasa, Okabe Nangaku, Uchimasa, Utagawa Toyoharu, Utagawa Toyonobu, and various unidentified artists. Four of the color plates are by Harunobu, and four are by Koryusai. Visual detail on each plate and illustration is excellent, and each is fully-annotated by Gentles.
