Thumb-marking present. Black marks to pages throughout. Visible creasing to gutter. Cracking to hinges and gutters, leaving netting exposed. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible crushing to spine ends. Noticeable tanning to spine and edges. Small splits to spine ends. Water staining to boards. Marks overall.

Binding is quite worn, has damping and spotting, as well as smudges. Ring mark on front board. Spine is toned with the gilt dulled. Top edge of text block is gilt. Prior owner?s name on front flyleaf. Inner hinges are cracked. Endpapers show damping at upper edges. This is reflected on some pages. Text is toned, with occasional foxing. Illustrations throughout.
