New York City conservative rabbi. 1st American Jewish leader since the establishment of the modern state of Israel to relocate there. The book is inscribed by the author to Rabbi Bernard Mandelbaum, president from 1966 to 1971 of the Jewish Theological Seminary, the academic and spiritual center of Conservative Judaism.
