Hard Cover. Etat : Fair. No Jacket. 751 pages. Red cloth with an tooled and gilt overlay to the spine and the front and rear covers. The overlayed material might be leather, but I'm not sure what material might have been avialable in 1857. Endpapers are yellowed and chipped. Covers are worn, scuffed, and rubbed. The edges are marbled. The binding is tight. Some pages are discolored from tree leaves being pressed between the pages. An interesting item "illustrated by three hundred engravings."
