Nicolet. 9 1/2" X 6 1/2". xxviii, 916pp. Bound in textured blue cloth over boards, with title in gilt to upper board and spine. Moderate wear to binding, with bumping and rubbing to extremities, small neat tears and fraying to head and tail of spine, and scattered rubbing and faint soiling to boards. Both inner hinges cracked and amateurly repaired with archival adhesive, with substantial tears to endpapers covering hinges and stiffness to rear hinge. Binding remains quite firm and sound. Previous owner's name to flyleaf: G. L. Goubeaud, DVM. Newspaper clipping of previous owner's relative to pages 320 and 321, with toning. Pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. An admittedly worn but solid and generously illustrated 1892 guide to the exterior of the horse.
