Hardcover. Etat : Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. Apparent First Edition in English (NAP). I do have a little bit of skepticism about this being a 112-year-old book. You certainly wouldn't guess that from the appearance. Take a look at the first three photographs of the covers. I read up a little bit on the publisher, Hinds, Noble & Eldredge. They came into existence in 1904 the year that the translator took out a copyright on this book. Some years later they merged with C.M. Barnes-Wilcox and that's how we got Barnes & Noble. The Preface Of The Translator begins with the sentence 'Last year the Georgian people celebrated the 100th anniversary of the annexation of its country to the dominion of the Great White Tsar'. Since that happened around 1801-1802 perhaps that lends credence to the book being this old. Not sure. Back to the covers, as you can see they are quite clean. If you look very closely there's some tiny spotting near the top of the rear cover. There's also a little bit of edge wear at the spine ends. Not so at the corners or edges. The book is very well bound. There's light spotting on the inside front cover and first couple of blank end papers. After that, you'll see only a very occasional individual age spot or two. The pages are Very clean (and unusually bright, given their age). They're also in excellent condition. No one has written their name or anything else on any page. There aren't any markings or attachments. I saw only two bottom corners with tiny creases where the tips got a little snagged. The rear inside cover and rear end paper repeats the light age spotting. And that's about it. The book looks great.
