Pictorial board covers, age-tanned, bumped to corners with slight damaage to front opening corner, several small marks and stains. Binding good, staples just visible in internal gutters. Green endpapers. Ffep with gift inscription half-erased. Stain to title page. Unpaginated [28pp.], b/w illustrations sometimes on different coloured backgrounds. Some dog-earing, but contents clean and bright. Rhyming verse text in Danish telling the Old testament story of Joseph. Astrid Grethe Grouleff Heltberg (27 May 1911 1996) was a Danish writer. In the original Danish language. ***Very good in sewn cream black line illustrated French outer paper wrappers over inner thin card covers. Pages untrimmed (rough-cut, as called for). Edges of outer wrappers slightly rubbed. A few top edge of pages uncut (could be carefully cut open if so wished). A tiny light splash mark to the outer surface of the top of front outer wrapper not affecting inner wrapper or pages. Printed on thick quality cream paper. Pages clean. No foxing. No tears. No inscriptions. Spine tight. 35 pages. 204mm x 134mm. ***Strid Grethe Grouleff Heltberg (1911-1996) was a Danish writer. Danish Illustrator Ebbe Sadolin (1900-82), who illustrated this poetry book, visited London after the Second World War to sketch war-torn London recovering from the Blitz, both the East End and the West End. ***First impression of the true first edition of Rodt Morke in the original Danish language - illustrated by the Danish artist Ebbe Sadolin in very nice collectable condition. An early first edition title, of interest to collectors of Grethe Heltberg, twentieth century Danish poetry first editions and the illustrations of Ebbe Sadolin.
