Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

Boards bumped at corners and slightly grubby and marked, small neat ink inscription to ffep; foxing to endpapers. A good tight copy. Front board shows an elephant and a giraffe singing into a microphone (?).

good+ w/Good+ dj. Illus by Newton Whittaker. Orange cloth binding has some wear, slight warp from improper shelving. DJ has chip missing from spine, some edgewear, and closed tears. From an early age, Joe was fascinated by animals. He talked to them in their own language, and everyone thought him pretty strange until he became famous.

Binding tight and appears little read, no annotations - brief gift inscription to ffep dated 1944; slight toning to endpapers but text and lovely illustrations bright and clear throughout.
