Bound in red cloth, with black titles to the spine, this dated hardback 1964 Second Revised Edition is in VG condition, in VG jacket (unclipped). xii/239pp, with endpaper maps, based on the author's 1936 Ph.D. thesis at London University, a careful study of the short period in the decay of the Maratha, investigates the political intrigues and developments of the period. Jacket is lightly yellowed/browned, rubbed on the edges, with a small hole on the rear (a few mms across), and a closed tear in the front (1 cm); now protected in plastic. Boards, the spine has faded to gray, and the red front/rear boards also have some fading. Internally, the FFEP has been clipped, and has small ink stamp lower left; internally otherwise clean, although slightly yellowed commensurate with age. text block edge has some light foxing. Otherwise all VG.
