No Binding. Etat : Collectible-Good. Original billhead printed in black ink on light pink paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink and pencil. Datelined October 13, 1886 in San Francisco, California. 8 1/2" x 41/2." Billhead is intact overall but has significant dampstaining (resulting in yellow discoloration) on left half on front, extensive dampstaining and a few brown stains on back, a few horizontal and vertical fold lines, silght wrinkling, and a split (about 1") along one of the fold lines. A Good copy. An original billhead from the Haas Brothers of San Francisco, California to "Jacob Heyman" of Grass Valley, California. Heyman bought one item, "sugar." The printed header reads, "Bought of Haas Brothers, Importers and Wholesale Grocers, 100 & 102 California Street.".

One of the rare times Grosset & Dunlap published the original, which came about because De Haas adapted the original play by Raphaelson Samson into a novel.
