Hardcover. Etat : Good. Red Boards. No Jacket. Stated First Edition. Hardback. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 192 pages; 48 page glossary of proper names and medical terms; well illustrated from photos; from the author's note: " There is probably no more fascinating story than that of the rise of scientific medicine. Its beginnings were in mystery and superstition; its progress encumbered with ignorance and quackery. Above these it has risen to become the most beneficent science of the modern world." The book's cover edges show heavier wear, particularly along the spine cover sides--outer red cover gone in spots showing pink board beneath. Book contents are very good.
