pamphlet. Etat : Good. Southwest Museum (Southwest Museum Leaflets Number 9), [Published date: NO date listed (circa 1937)]. Published with the cooperation of the Clark County (Nevada) Archeological and Historical Society. Paper covers, 28 pages. In good condition. Black and white pictorial paper covers have light aging and spotting to edges. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages lightly aged but otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-library. Black and white illustrations. [From first page] Note - The material for the Leaflet was gathered from researches extending over a period of twelve years, from 1924 to 1936 - field-work sponsored by the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundations, the State of Nevada, the Southwest Museum, the California Institute of Technology, the Carnegie Institution of Washington, and the National Park Service. The Southwest Museum Leaflets were a series of 43 booklets written by archaeologists for the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, California, during the 1930s through the early 1960s. The leaflets were designed to provide the public with information about the cultures of the Southwest, and they covered a wide range of topics, including archaeology, anthropology, history, and art. The leaflets were written by some of the leading experts in the field of Southwest studies, including Charles Amsden, Ruth DeEtte Simpson, Frances E. Watkins, M. R. Harrington and Edwin E. Walker. The leaflets were illustrated with photographs and drawings, and they were often accompanied by maps and charts. The Southwest Museum Leaflets were a valuable resource for anyone interested in the cultures of the Southwest. They were also an important part of the Southwest Museum's mission to educate the public about the region's rich history and culture. The leaflets were discontinued in the 1960s, but they remain an important resource for scholars and researchers.
