Some pages a light pencil underlining but this is mostly confined to the very beginning of the; book. Has an extensive section for Chapter Notes, Bibliography, Appencides and Index.

Faint remnants of pencil markings, now erased, up to p. ~50 -- interior otherwise unmarked, clean, bright. Nice copy -- dustjacket now in protective mylar.

A detailed history of Egypt through the 19th and 20th centuries, which traces its emergence into the modern world and its prolonged relationship with Great Britain, eventuating in independence; and argues that the Muslim Brotherhood experience of the mid-20th century was an almost inevitable result of earlier periods.
