Paper and Cloth Hardback. Etat : Very Good. Sixth Edition Reprint. 1942. Reprint of the sixth edition. viii, 80pp.and 52 figures. This is a volume in 'Pitman's Motor Cyclists Library' series. Douglas was a British motorcycle manufacturer from 1907 to 1957 based in Kingswood, Bristol, owned by the Douglas family, and especially known for its horizontally opposed twin cylinder engined bikes and as manufacturers of speedway machines. This handbook on the Douglas machine has been written with the object of providing information on the past and present models [as at the time of publication] and therefore does not deal with any one particular model. It deals with every phase of the subject, including chapters on driving, touring, legal matters, insurance, tracing faults and overhauling. The book is bound in the original cream paper covered boards with a brown cloth spine and black titling on the front board and an advertisement on the rear board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling on the boards. The contents are tight and clean with some tape stains on the front and rear free endpapers, probably where a home-made protective cover for the book had been attached. There are remains of an old label or sticker on the front free endpaper. There is no inscription.
