(Hardcover, 1937). 1937 1st edition. 8vo (142 x 222mm). Pp217. Two colour plates of flies, b/w photographs, bibliography. Olive green cloth. Rather faded and foxed. Good-plus. A comprehensive work on Scottish loch fishing with an emphasis on imitating the natural fly. ".an attempt is made to devise a system of fishing a loch with imitationsof the insects on which trout feed instead of depending on the 'attractor' type of lure." (Where To Fish 1939). "Henzell. is a Newcastle businessman, very enthusiastic about loch fishing in which he specializes, rather conceited, but a nice chap. He does not, of course, attempt to solve the real problem in loch fishing which to me is where the fish will be feeding on any given day, but I thought his general views very sound." (Letter from H.D. Turing to Maurice Headlam, 1937). .

Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Poor. 1st Edition. Good to VG clean copy. Some discolouration to boards, particularly so at spine ends corresponding with loss of dust jacket. Some foxing throughout, more especially to prelim pages. Signed by author and dedicated to his wife on front free end paper: "To my wife who has borne so well the trouble and strife attendant on the production of this book, With love from (cannot read first name) The Author!!" The handwriting checks out with other signed online listings by Henzell. Photos on request and will be posted here shortly. Dust jacket, although not price clipped, has seen much better days; very handled looking, repaired by tape in several places, heavily discoloured on spine, some major loss, particularly at spine ends and bottom fore edge front corner. That said, at least most of the title and fish illustration on the front cover is still intact. Covered to prevent any further damage. In all a unique copy and therefore highly collectable. Signed by Author(s).
