Essays by various authors including Roy L. Hill, James Baldwin, Arna Bontemps, Langston Hughes, Martin Luther King, Charles H. Wesley et al. African-American poet and teacher, Roy L. Hill, was born in Laurens, South Carolina, was orphaned when he was only two months old, and reared by a Pennsylvania Quaker family. He was an Associate Professor of Afro-American Studies and English, at SUNY Brockport when 'Rhetoric of Racial Hope' was published.
