Frontispiece engravings, no other illustrations in this edition. Running title: ".being a stirring recital of Actual Scenes of Daring and Peril among the Gigantic Forests and Terrific Rapids of the Columbia River and Giving Life-Like Pictures of Terrific Encounterswith Savages as Fierce and Relentless as its Mighty Tides, including a full, fair and reliable History of the State of Oregon." Very good, hinges starting but text block tight, embrowing to the pages.

This copy with some spotting and wear to the rear cover, some wear to the extremities and the top and bottom of spine, and browned paper as is common with all these Arlington publications. Brown publisher's covers, and the front cover is decorated. Publisher's ads in the rear. Previous owner name in pencil on front end paper. Ref: Smith 4493, Howes H505; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 437 pages.

Bumped at the foot of the spine and along the lower edge of the spine and two small rubbed spots along the edges of the spine, less than a quarter inch. Were it not for these flaws this would be an exceptional copy. Still a very nice addition to a collection on Oregon.
