Hingston was among the first to explore the rainforest canopy for its diverse fauna and flora, using ladders, ropes, etc. to explore the treetops in British Guiana. Covers worn, torn over spine.

Soft cover. Etat : Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 9 7/8 X 6 1/2" in paper cover. This is a most unusual magazine from 1929. The initial article is by Bertrand Russell: "Are Insects Intelligent?" After that, Maj. Hingston holds forth for 178pp on the subject of Instinct and Intelligence. This is followed by a few very short articles, editorial features, letters, etc. The entire issue is basically devoted to the one subject. Both covers are soiled, and evidence of water exposure extends 15 pp into the book and for the last 27pp. Covers are also chipped all along the edges. X/S/Q.
