First edition. First edition. Wrappers, 150pp., illus. A scarce work about an expedition along the Niobrara-Virginia City Wagon Road in 1866, much of which became the Bozeman Trail. Several personal sketches, most important of which is a 40-page account of the life of Charles Floyd, a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the only member to die during the expedition. Very good, although less expensive at time of publication, copies in wrappers are much more scarce than those bound in cloth. Recommended.
