, volume VIII 256 pages ( lacks pages 1 - 127 ) illustrated with 4 of 8 engraved plates, volume IX 256 pages with 8 plates, volume X 384 pages ( lacks pages 1 - 64 ) with 9 of 12 plates, volume XIII 384 pages ( lacks pages 1 - 64 ) with 10 of 12 plates all other volumes have 384 pages with 12 plates each, beautiful engravings First Edition , all volumes in similar condition showing slight general shelf wear, corners a little rubbed, most plates show a few small light foxing spots, in all but a few cases these are confined to the margins of the plates, a very few pages have minor edge tears, where pages or plates are lacking they have not been bound in rather than having been removed, nice copies of a scarce publication with very good plates , half brown calf with marbled paper to boards, five raised bands with gilt decoration and tooling, gilt title to green spine label, tooled edges to leather of covers, all edges and endpapers marbled Quarto (over 10 - 12 inches tall) Hardback ISBN:

Hardcover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. Engraved By J. C. Allen (illustrateur). First Edition. This is a 3/4 leather bound copy with marbled combed boards and endpapers. Quite shelf rubbed with some chipping of the spine. 1831 edition by I. T. Hinton, 30 steel engraved plates and titlepage vignette. The plates are tissue guarded and have letter-press marks but are quite foxed. Not so noticable on the engravings but is noticable on the margins. The text has lots of historical info about the resorts. Lots of genealogical info also. Dedicated to his most gracious Majesty William IV.
