FIRST EDITION. 8vo., blue buckram-bound hardback, gilt; 132pp, tissue-protected b/w frontis plus b/w plates and drawings throughout. Previous owners's armorial bookplate to reverse of contents page. Extensive ink notes and insertions (including photographs) relating to the Whitehead family of Chichester, but originally from Westerham in Kent. Front inner hinge very weak, title and contents pages loose, light foxing to edges and occasionally throughout, covers a little darkened through handling with a few small marks.
