Small embossed stamp at foot of title page, with 'withdrawn' stamp on verso. Scattered light foxing but heavier on pp.263-7 and 466. pp.441-452 in the appendix creased and foxed to the lower margin. No external marks. The original cloth with light wear to edges and spine. Collated and complete but a poor copy. A comprehensive description of Australia.

Slight shelf-wear but a fine new copy. A detailed account of the author's life in India and his career as an indigo planter. Much detail on indigo plantations and processing in addition to lots of shooting and pigsticking. Wild boar, pea fowl, quail, rhinoceros in Nepal, several chapters on tiger hunts, some elephants, and a final chapter on curing skins. .
