Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. A vintage softcover program from the 1940 Convention of the Institute of American Meat Packers, 20 pages. Saddle stapled binding. Thick light blue paper wraps with the title and convention location at the front cover. Printed in black and white on thick paper. Lower left corner of the rear cover missing (see photo). Lower third of the blank, unpaginated Notes page torn out. Otherwise, pages are clean and free of writing. The binding is tight and strong, with no loose pages. A program from the 1940 Convention of the Institute of American Meat Packers which was held on October 18 to 22, 1940. With a list of convention exhibits of packinghouse equipment and machinery, and a program of panels being held for the Accounting Section, the Chemistry and Operating Section, the Sales and Advertising Section, the Engineering and Construction Section, the Live Stock Section, and the Sausage Division. Each of these panels includes a schedule of talks throughout the convention, among them Accounting Practices of Small Meat Packing Companies, The Effect of Carbon Dioxide on Bacteria, with Particular Reference to Food Poisoning Organisms, Protecting Pork Cuts in the Freezer, and Labeling of Meat Products Under New Food Laws. A fascinating bit of history of the meat packing industry.

Wrap tips have some creasing and the text block bottom tip has a slight bend. Some dust staining to the text block. Spine ends are fraying.
